Leptospirosis

Leptospirosis is a disease caused by a bacteria spread by foxes, coyotes and rats.  This bacteria causes kidney failure and loves to hang out in the watering holes that these animals frequent. Your dog is at risk if it is a hunting dog or loves to run the river bed.  Recently, this bacteria was spread around the dog parks in Fresno due to the doggy swimming pools, and several dogs became sick and/or died as a result.
